QuestMaster Privacy Policy

QuestMaster is a task and calendar app that reads and writes data through your own Google account, using your own permission. This page explains what it accesses, what it stores, and what it never does.

What QuestMaster accesses

When you sign in with Google, QuestMaster requests permission to access:

• Google Tasks — to read and manage your task lists.
• Google Calendar events — to read and manage events you create or that QuestMaster creates on your behalf.
• Google Drive app data folder — a private, hidden storage area (not your regular Drive files) where QuestMaster keeps your quest themes, difficulty settings, character stats, and other app-specific data so it syncs across your devices.

All access happens using an OAuth token tied to your own signed-in Google account. QuestMaster never asks for or stores your Google password, and it cannot see or touch anything in your Google account beyond the specific permissions listed above — it has no access to your email, your regular Drive files, or any other Google service.

What QuestMaster stores

Your tasks, calendar events, and app data (themed quest titles, difficulty ratings, stats, habit progress, and similar) are stored in your own Google Tasks, Calendar, and Drive app-data folder — not on a QuestMaster server. Some of this data is also cached locally in your browser's storage to make the app feel fast, and is cleared if you sign out or clear your browser data.

Third-party AI processing

To generate D&D-style quest titles, habit narratives, and subtask suggestions, QuestMaster sends task/event titles (and, if you've enabled it in Settings, their notes) to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. This text is used only to generate that response and is not used to train Anthropic's models under their API terms. No Google account credentials or tokens are ever sent to Anthropic.

What QuestMaster never does

• Never shares your data with third parties for advertising or any other purpose.
• Never sells your data.
• Never accesses your Google account data without your active, signed-in session.
• Never stores your Google password — sign-in is handled entirely by Google.

Revoking access

You can revoke QuestMaster's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page. Signing out of QuestMaster also clears its locally cached data from your browser.
